This is an exciting opportunity for a driven and technically minded professional to join an innovative organisation at the forefront of industrial automation solutions. The successful candidate will play a key role in bridging the gap between engineering and sales, providing expert technical support, developing client relationships, and driving business growth across cutting-edge automation projects.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and develop relationships with assigned customers to drive revenue growth and profitability, as directed by the Sales Manager and Team Leader.
- Oversee the full customer journey, from opportunity identification through to order conversion, ensuring continued business expansion.
- Identify and secure new business opportunities within agreed regions or sectors through effective promotion of automation products, solutions, and services.
- Build strong technical understanding of customer applications and act as the subject matter expert within the assigned sector.
- Drive project sales by identifying and delivering engineering upgrade opportunities in areas such as machinery safety, process safety, and OT security.
- Prepare tailored proposals and convert leads for automation systems and engineering projects, collaborating closely with internal specialists.
- Deliver high-quality pre-sales and post-sales support to key customers to ensure strong relationships and customer satisfaction.
- Work collaboratively across sales, marketing, and business development teams while maintaining accurate CRM data, reports, and compliance with internal policies.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years' experience in sales within the automation, controls, or electrical switchgear sector, with a proven record of success in industrial automation.
- Strong technical and commercial acumen with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels, from shop floor to boardroom.
- Experienced in managing multiple customer accounts, delivering end-to-end support from pre-sales to order administration and aftersales.
- Solid understanding of automation and control technologies, including PLCs, motion control, robotics, sensors, and industrial safety systems.
- Self-motivated, professional, and results-driven with strong initiative and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with a track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
- Full, clean driving licence with flexibility to travel across Ireland and occasionally to the UK and overseas.
