My client, a well-established Irish company based on the North side of the city, is seeking an experienced Senior Credit Controller to join their busy and fast-paced finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a strong Accounts Receivable professional with 5+ years' experience who is confident leading a team and driving best practice across AR and credit control functions.
As Senior Credit Controller, you will take ownership of the Accounts Receivable function, overseeing the team's daily operations while ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and continuous improvement across processes.
This role is based on site in Cork with hybrid working available after 6 months.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the AR team, including workload allocation, team meetings, guidance, and day-to-day support
- Review and oversee the bank reconciliation process, including reviewing reconciliations completed by the team
- Review credit applications, manage customer accounts, monitor overdue balances, and ensure effective follow-up strategies
- Analyse Aged Debtors reports and implement strategies to improve productivity, accuracy, and cash flow
- Enforce AR policies and procedures consistently across the business
- Act as a key point of contact for escalated issues and liaise with internal and external stakeholders
- Prepare and present reports to management
- Provide training, coaching, and ongoing feedback to team members
- Identify issues within the AR function and implement practical, effective solutions
Requirements:
- Minimum 5+ years' experience in Accounts Receivable / Credit Control
- Solid understanding of AR processes and credit management principles
- Working knowledge of general accounting procedures
- Strong Excel skills
- Strong attention to detail and high levels of accuracy
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with customers, colleagues, and senior stakeholders
