We are seeking a high-calibre Process Cleaning Engineer to join our client's Small Molecule manufacturing division. In this pivotal role, you will lead, coordinate, and continuously improve cleaning operations across multiple manufacturing facilities. You will drive operational efficiency, reduce turnaround times, and integrate industry best practices to support high-standard production schedules.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Leadership & Execution: Lead shift handover meetings (morning/evening), manage cleaning execution to strict schedules, and oversee associated documentation (tickets, visual boards, campaign summaries).
- Process & Automation Optimization: Utilize knowledge of automated control systems (DeltaV, Foxboro) to refine cleaning sequences, streamline cycle times, and resolve operational bottlenecks.
- Scheduling & Preparation: Ensure equipment, swab kits, and consumables are staged in advance. Partner with Operations and Maintenance to integrate Work Orders and PMs into cleaning windows.
- Continuous Improvement (CI) & Lean: Lead After-Action Reviews (AARs), track downtime data, and implement mechanical or automated upgrades to optimize future clean-ups.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Support the core Cleaning Process Team (SMTPT), assist in developing training for operations staff, and manage non-routine sampling and work instructions.
- Industry Benchmarking: Align site cleaning strategies with external industry standards and drive standardization across business units.
Key Candidate Attributes
- Technical Expertise: Strong background in pharmaceutical processing equipment and chemical/re-circulated cleaning regimes.
- Automation Familiarity: Working knowledge of site automated control systems (Foxboro or DeltaV preferred).
- Operational Insight: Deep understanding of small-molecule manufacturing workflows and production scheduling.
- CI Mindset: Proven commitment to Lean methodologies, root-cause troubleshooting, and continuous process optimization.
