PCB Production Operator
About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and motivated PCB Production Operator to join our manufacturing team in Ringaskiddy, Co. Cork.
The successful candidate will report to the PCB Production Supervisor and provide support across day-to-day production activities, with a particular focus on the assembly, inspection and processing of printed circuit boards and associated electronic and mechanical components.
Full training will be provided on all specific equipment and processes required for the role.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate assembly equipment required to complete assigned production tasks.
- Prepare electronic components and other materials for manual assembly.
- Operate PCB cleaning and baking equipment.
- Use torque tools to assemble specified fasteners to the required standards.
- Perform manual assembly of PCBs and associated mechanical hardware in accordance with formal assembly procedures, process instructions, assembly drawings and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Handle printed circuit boards, electronic components and associated materials safely and correctly.
- Apply adhesives and conformal coatings in accordance with specified procedures.
- Carry out prototype assembly work under engineering supervision and control.
- Set up production equipment and perform process-related measurements as required.
- Carry out routine operator-level machine maintenance in accordance with established procedures.
- Inspect and rework PCBs and components in line with defined quality criteria.
- Complete all required production and quality documentation accurately and on time.
- Use the company ERP system to accurately process and transact work orders.
- Maintain personal tools and equipment as required.
- Follow all anti-static, health and safety, quality and housekeeping requirements.
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment.
- Support other production activities as required.
Training
Full training will be provided on all specific production equipment, processes and procedures relevant to the role.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills
- Knowledge of IPC-7711/IPC-7721 standards would be advantageous.
- Knowledge of IPC J-STD requirements and their application would be desirable.
- Previous experience in PCB, electronic or mechanical assembly would be an advantage.
