Job Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced, hands-on Lead Solutions Architect to provide technical and architectural leadership across a complex Microsoft Azure and Dynamics 365 environment supporting application processing, case management, and customer services. This is an end-to-end ownership role spanning solution architecture, cloud and application modernization, security and governance, delivery assurance, and production operations. The successful candidate will lead technical decisions, guide engineering teams and delivery partners, and engage directly with client stakeholders to ensure solutions are secure, supportable, cost-effective, and aligned with target architecture.

Responsibilities

• Architectural Leadership: Own end-to-end solution architecture for Azure-hosted applications, Dynamics 365/Dataverse, middleware, integrations, and supporting data platforms.
• Modernization & Migration: Lead application modernization and migration from legacy .NET, Windows services, and scheduled jobs to Azure PaaS services, preserving business processes and operational dependencies.
• Cloud & Network Governance: Design and govern Azure landing zone solutions, including hub-and-spoke networking, private connectivity, identity, platform security, resilience, and observability.
• Platform & Integration Management: Oversee API and integration architecture using Azure API Management, App Services, Azure Functions, messaging, and secure third-party connectivity; provide technical leadership for D365 CE/Dataverse changes, audit, storage optimization, and data lifecycle management.
• Data Architecture: Own architectural decisions for Azure SQL/SQL Managed Instance, data movement, archival, and recovery, including integration with Azure Data Factory/SSIS where applicable.
• Documentation & Governance: Produce and review high- and low-level designs, security architecture, technical specifications, runbooks, and client-facing solution proposals; lead technical governance through design reviews, risk management, CAB/release readiness, testing, cutover, and operational handover.
• Continuity & FinOps: Develop and validate business continuity and disaster recovery approaches (RPO/RTO testing across cloud and SaaS services); apply Azure cost governance and FinOps practices to right-sizing, capacity planning, and licensing.
• Security & Team Leadership: Work with security stakeholders on Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Microsoft Sentinel, and audit logging; lead and mentor engineers, coordinate vendors, and investigate complex L3 incidents to drive root-cause analysis.

• Enterprise Applications & Data: Microsoft Dynamics 365 CE, Dataverse, KingswaySoft, Power Platform, Power Automate, Logic Apps, Power BI.
• Software Development & Integration: .NET / C#, REST APIs, OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect.
• Identity, Access & Security: Microsoft Entra ID, Managed Identities, RBAC/PIM, Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Microsoft Sentinel.
• DevOps & Infrastructure as Code: Terraform, Azure DevOps, Git, CI/CD.
• Observability & Analytics: Application Insights, Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, KQL.

Experience & Qualifications

• 10+ years of relevant IT experience, including substantial experience designing and delivering enterprise solutions on Microsoft Azure.
• Proven leadership of complex, business-critical technology programs with multiple delivery teams, environments, and external stakeholders.
• Deep experience with D365 CE/Dataverse architecture, environments, APIs, solution lifecycle, and production operations.
• Hands-on ability to review code, troubleshoot across application tiers, and conduct root-cause analysis on complex L3 incidents.
• Strong background in Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, automated deployments, and release management.
• Proven track record implementing availability, backup, recovery, data retention, and DR in regulated or business-critical environments.

Desirable Experience

• Upgrading or migrating on-premises workloads to PaaS & SaaS environments.
• Dataverse archiving/purging, long-term retention, and multi-subscription Azure SOC integrations.
• Regulated or public-sector delivery, security assurance, ISO 27001-aligned controls, and formal change approval processes.
• Exposure to AI-enabled operations or Azure FinOps automation.
