Job Overview
Operating out of Cork, the IT Infrastructure and Cloud Manager will lead the strategy, delivery, and ongoing operation of the organization's hybrid-cloud and infrastructure platforms. Reporting directly to the Head of IT Operations, the successful candidate will manage a talented team of 9 infrastructure and cloud engineers. This role balances strategic roadmapping with day-to-day operational leadership, ensuring systems remain highly available, secure, and fully optimized to support ongoing business transformation.
Responsibilities
Leadership, Vendor & Financial Governance
- Team Leadership: Leads, coaches, and develops a team of 9 infrastructure and cloud engineers across project delivery and daily operations using agile methodologies.
- Financial Management: Oversees infrastructure and cloud budgets, driving cost forecasting, optimization, and strict financial governance (FinOps practices).
- Vendor Management: Manages and negotiates contracts with critical third-party partners, MSPs, hardware suppliers, cloud providers, and licensing partners.
- Security & Compliance: Partners with IT Security to implement Zero Trust architecture, maintains rigorous security controls, and presents operational/security metrics to senior leadership.
- Process Excellence: Ensures strict adherence to ITIL-aligned processes, including incident, problem, and change management.
Infrastructure & Cloud Operations
- Hybrid Environment Management: Leads the planning, deployment, management, and optimization of on-premises, private, and public cloud platforms.
- Modernization & Automation: Drives cloud transformation initiatives utilizing Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and DevOps practices to streamline operations.
- Governance & Continuity: Maintains cloud governance, identity management best practices, and compliance standards.
- Disaster Recovery: Oversees data retention, backup, and recovery processes to ensure they exceed agreed SLAs, regulatory obligations, and business continuity expectations.
- Monitoring & Response: Leads incident response activities and root-cause analysis for high-impact issues, ensuring effective monitoring and alerting across all IT systems.

Requirements
Experience & Education
- Experience: 7+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, cloud, or security roles, with at least 3 years explicitly in a leadership or managerial capacity.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent demonstrable experience.
- Technical Capability: Deep expertise managing hybrid-cloud environments, leading incident responses/crisis situations, and executing long-term technical roadmaps.
- Key Skills: Exceptional stakeholder engagement, communication, and independent decision-making capabilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Postgraduate qualification (e.g., Higher Diploma, Master's in IT Management or Cloud Technologies).
- Active professional certifications such as Microsoft Azure (AZ-104, AZ-305), AWS Solutions Architect, VMware VCP, Cisco CCNA/CCNP, or ITIL Foundation/Intermediate.
