Senior Accountant

About the Opportunity
We are seeking a high-caliber Senior Accountant to join the Global Business Centre of a leading multinational firm headquartered in Cork. This role offers direct ownership of key international entities across the EMEA region within an established controllership team.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee month-end close activities, P&L/balance sheet reconciliations, and complex journal postings for assigned EMEA entities.
- Ensure full compliance with US GAAP and local statutory accounting standards.
- Lead the timely preparation of local statutory accounts, corporate tax filings, and tax provision calculations.
- Maintain robust internal controls and support SOX compliance, as well as internal/external audit cycles.
- Identify and implement process improvements to optimize accounting workflows and meet performance SLAs.
- Collaborate closely with regional stakeholders across EMEA and the wider Global Business Services (GBS) function.
Key Requirements
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA, or equivalent) with a degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Strong background in financial reporting, controllership, or shared services within a fast-paced multinational environment.
- Solid technical working knowledge of US GAAP and local/statutory GAAP (IFRS exposure a strong advantage).
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and experience with large-scale ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, NetSuite).
- Exceptional analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to thrive in a deadline-driven environment.
