Financial Accountant - Cork - Permanent
We are looking for a part-qualified or qualified accountant to join a growing organisation in a hands-on, commercially focused role.
This would suit someone who is proactive, curious and enjoys taking ownership rather than simply following established processes. The role offers broad exposure across finance, with an opportunity to work closely with senior management and contribute to improving systems, processes, reporting and the use of AI and automation within finance.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare management accounts and support month-end reporting.
- Provide commercial analysis, financial insight and decision support.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting and financial planning.
- Oversee core AP, expenses, billing, receipts and reconciliations.
- Maintain strong financial controls and support cash management.
- Liaise with external accountants and auditors as required.
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve finance processes.
- Help introduce and embed automation, AI and other digital tools.
- Work with colleagues across the organisation to improve financial and operational efficiency.
About You
- Part-qualified or qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA.
- Strong accounting fundamentals and attention to detail.
- Commercially minded with a genuine interest in how a business operates.
- Confident communicator who can work with both finance and non-finance colleagues.
- Self-motivated, adaptable and comfortable managing competing priorities.
- Comfortable with accounting systems, Excel and technology.
- Interested in AI, automation and finding better ways of working.
Previous sector experience is not essential. The key requirements are the right attitude, commercial curiosity and willingness to take ownership.
