The business is now seeking a seasoned Finance Director with a track record of excellence to join the leadership team.
The Role:
This is a high-impact position designed for a well-experienced finance professional- at Finance Director level-who balances technical competency with a passion for people development and growth to match the organisations ambitions.
- 70% Financial Ownership: Ensuring the absolute integrity of the financial function, multijurisdictional reporting, and a robust internal control frameworks.
- 30% Senior Leadership & Talent Development: Driving the evolution of the Finance & Admin (F&A) team through structured learning, professional development programs, and expanding the team's strategic capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Excellence & Operational Control (70%)
- Strategic Reporting: Coordinate the preparation of comprehensive Financial Statements and draft monthly P&L accounts.
- Regional Operations: Manage and review Branch Accounts for multiple jurisdictions, ensuring compliance and performance visibility.
- Internal Controls & Process Optimization: Implement and monitor robust internal controls while continuously streamlining accounting functions for maximum efficiency.
- Construction-Specific Compliance: Oversee the end-to-end RCT process (Revenue), VAT, VIES, and Intrastat submissions with precision.
- Financial Integrity: Lead monthly Balance Sheet reviews and manage the weekly payroll cycle, Purchase Order to Pay, and Sales Order to Cash processes.
- SMT Representation: In time, represent the F&A function on the Senior Management Team (SMT), providing data-driven insights to influence business-wide decision-making.
People Leadership & Capability Expansion (30%)
- Talent Development: Design and lead continuous learning and development programs to elevate the skillsets of the finance and admin team.
- Mentorship & Coaching: Leverage a vast history of people management to mentor junior members, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.
- Culture Building: Act as a role model for professional development, ensuring the F&A team is seen as a high-performing, "Career Ally" function within the business.
- Strategic Resource Planning: Work with The SLT and HR team to identify gaps in team capabilities and lead recruitment or training initiatives to future-proof the finance department and wider business.
Qualifications & Experience
- Professional Qualification: ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified with significant Post-Qualified Experience (PQE).
- Leadership Track Record: A "vast history" of people management is essential. You must demonstrate the ability to grow, develop, and retain high-performing teams.
- Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of accounting principles within the construction or engineering sectors is desirable, not essential (experience with RCT is advantageous).
- Technical Savvy: Proficiency in modern accounting software and advanced MS Excel skills preferable.
- Communication: Highly articulate with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and distil complex financial data into clear, actionable advice.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
