Machine Build Technician - Automation

About the Role:
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Machine Build Technician to join a specialist provider of bespoke automation solutions for the medical device manufacturing sector. This is a hands-on position, working within a skilled engineering team to assemble precision automated equipment, integrating electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems.
The role offers technical variety, exposure to advanced automation technologies, and occasional opportunities to travel to client sites for equipment installations and commissioning.
Key Responsibilities:

Build and assemble bespoke automated machinery from engineering drawings

Layout and wire electrical control panels

Perform field wiring, connecting devices, sensors, and actuators to control systems

Assemble high-precision mechanical and pneumatic components

Identify and communicate build issues, working closely with the engineering team to resolve them

Provide occasional on-site installation and commissioning support both in Ireland and overseas
Requirements:
Essential:
-
Previous experience in machine building or control panel assembly

Strong working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems

Ability to read and work from electrical schematics, 2D build drawings, and 3D CAD models

Full clean driving license and valid passport

Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-focused attitude

Positive, flexible, and proactive approach
Desirable:

Familiarity with automation equipment or experience within regulated industries such as medical device, pharmaceutical, or food manufacturing
