Cyber Security Engineer

My client is looking for a Cyber Security Engineer with a minimum of 5 years of experience to join their organisation. This is a permanent role and the successful candidate can be based in Cork or Limerick.

Key Skills

• Minimum 5 years' experience in cybersecurity engineering or a similar role
  
  
• Strong knowledge of network security, cloud security (AWS/Azure), and security architecture
  
  
• Hands on experience with SIEM, IAM, and vulnerability management tools
  
  
• Proficiency in scripting or programming (e.g. Python, PowerShell, Bash)
  
  
• Solid understanding of security frameworks and standards (e.g. NIST, ISO 27001)
  
  
• Excellent problem solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain security controls across infrastructure and cloud environments
  
  
• Monitor, detect, and respond to security incidents and threats in real time
  
  
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and coordinate remediation efforts
  
  
• Collaborate with cross functional teams to improve overall security posture
  
  
• Support compliance, risk assessments, and security audits
  
  
• Continuously enhance security processes, tools, and best practices
