Cyber Security Engineer

My client is looking for a Cyber Security Engineer with a minimum of 4 years of experience to join their organisation in Cork. This is a permanent role.

Key Skills and Experience

• Minimum 5 years' experience in cybersecurity engineering or related roles
• Expertise in network security, firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection
• Strong knowledge of cloud security platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP)
• Hands-on experience with vulnerability management and penetration testing
• Familiarity with security frameworks and standards (ISO 27001, NIST, CIS)
• Proficient in scripting or automation for security tasks (Python, PowerShell, Bash)

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain secure systems across network, cloud, and on-prem environments
• Monitor security events and respond to incidents to mitigate threats
• Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and implement remediation strategies
• Collaborate with IT and DevOps teams to integrate security into processes and applications
• Maintain documentation of security configurations, policies, and procedures
• Stay up-to-date with emerging threats, tools, and best practices in cybersecurity
