Cost Accountant

We are looking for an experienced Cost Accountant to join a busy manufacturing finance team in Shannon. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will play a key role in analysing and controlling manufacturing costs, supporting operational decision-making and ensuring accurate financial reporting. This is a maternity leave cover.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyse product and manufacturing costs.
• Monitor and report on material, labour and overhead costs.
• Analyse production variances and investigate key cost drivers.
• Support standard costing, product costing and margin analysis.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting and financial planning.
• Monitor inventory valuation and stock movements.
• Produce regular cost and management reports for Finance and Operations.
• Work closely with production and operational teams to identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Support month-end reporting and financial controls.
• Drive improvements in costing processes, reporting and controls.

Ideal Candidate

• Qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
• Proven experience in cost accounting within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of product costing, standard costing and variance analysis.
• Excellent Excel and analytical skills.
• Commercially minded with strong attention to detail.
• Comfortable working closely with operational and production teams.
