Job Description

Insurance Industry Focus Manager | Permanent | Dublin | Hybrid An exciting opportunity to join a global professional services company and join their Finance & Performance team.

A great opportunity to apply skills in projects reaching beyond traditional finance boundaries - helping clients adapt their finance functions to new technologies, new regulations and fiscal challenges (including cost pressures).

The successful candidate will lead finance elements of client's finance and actuarial transformation programmes, including implementation of IFRS 17, and develop new propositions to take to clients. The candidate will work with colleagues and clients in audit, actuarial, other consulting areas and financial advisory with exposure to cutting edge finance work in a strategic, consulting and transactional context.


  • As a Manager/Senior Manager, you will work as part of multidisciplinary team to deliver and manage finance transformation projects.
  • Regulatory change initiatives, including the implementation of IFRS 17;
  • Finance Target Operating Model definition and implementation;
  • Finance process and controls design, including Close optimisation initiatives;
  • Finance IT architecture design, including functional support in defining requirements, designing, building and testing components of the finance architecture;
  • Vendor spec & select support, including finance system vendors offering sub-ledger, general ledger, accounting rules engine and business intelligence solutions;
  • Develop external vendor relationships and act as the conduit between vendors and client teams and translate business requirements into technical specifications;
  • Plan and manage a team on projects to successfully deliver outcomes for clients ensuring that the deliverables are produced in a timely way and are of the required quality;
  • Maintain and strengthen client relationships across the industry to support the growth of our business.
  • Act as a dedicated Coach to junior team member(s) and actively input performance appraisal process;
  • Support the development of junior team members through training as well as on-the-job coaching and provision of timely feedback.
  • Input into proposals and identify follow-on opportunities at existing clients;
  • Support and lead bid and sales activities;
  • Lead internal initiatives that are key to scaling our business including through supporting our recruitment drive and marketing campaign;
  • Build credibility and relationships in the Market including with prospective clients and with technology vendors.



  • Good knowledge of the insurance industry, emerging trends and how we can help companies respond to these trends;
  • Qualified accountant with ACA, ACCA, CIMA or other accounting qualification, and a strong academic record
  • Experience of successfully managing projects and producing quality deliverables on time and within budget
  • Prior consulting experience in finance transformation or active roles in finance transformation projects in the insurance industry;
  • Strong analytical and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to professional and client service excellence;
  • Advanced financial reporting experience including technical knowledge of the key insurance financial metrics (e.g. Solvency II, Embedded Value and IFRS reporting) and the application of these in various areas of finance work;
  • Effectively balance a number of tasks, work to deadlines, and produce quality deliverables
  • Proven track record of applying knowledge and technical skills in a practical and commercial way helping to make an impact;
  • Clear communication skills (both written and oral) and the ability to effectively communicate to both technical and non-technical audiences including the C-suite.
