NetOps Infrastructure Lead

Introduction

This role is an exciting and challenging opportunity to monitor/manage the network infrastructure of multiple SaaS based offerings. The focus of the role is to work directly with our Business Partners and NetOps team to support their customer needs relating to Access Management, Health Monitoring and Security Compliance of their systems. This worldwide infrastructure requires a candidate with strong server skills, understanding large network architecture and the ability to liaise directly with customers.

Your Role and Responsibilities

You will be supporting the NetOps team and interacting directly with our customers, including Business Partners and internal IBM product teams, to provide a highly available service. Responsibilities and skills required are those typical of managing infrastructure in a SaaS based, high availability environment. Typically:

Access:

  • DNS Maintenance
  • Account Management - Access Hub / SoftLayer
  • Billing Reports generation per payload

Monitor:

  • Monitoring & Alerting of payloads devices (utilizing e.g., syslog, IBM Tivoli Monitoring)
  • Report Generation to monitor production environment and perform preventative monitoring
  • Produce Customer Usage Reports
  • Automations / Scripting: Ansible / MySQL / php
  • Base understanding of Network Infrastructure

Security Compliance:

  • Running and maintaining tools for Security Compliance
  • Server Maintenance - Linux / Ubuntu

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Bachelor's degree preferred as is demonstrable experience of managing infrastructure in a SaaS based, high availability environment.

Preferred Technical and Professional Experience

  • Demonstrable customer support skills are also desirable.
