One of Ireland's largest full service law firms, with an established reputation for delivering legal excellence to their large and expanding client base. As part of the continuing development of our Litigation practice they currently have vacancies for Solicitors with up to 7 years PQE. The team handles all types of litigation matters across the legal spectrum but the focus for the successful candidate will be on commercial and corporate litigation. The department has a strong international practice so lawyers can expect to work on cases involving overseas parties. The department is growing and is at the forefront of much of the major litigation involving businesses and regulated entities in Ireland. The firm offers good training, excellent experience, a strong brand and planned career progression at all levels.

Responsibilities
The role will involve the following key responsibilities which include:

  • Managing litigation caseload in all courts with an emphasis on the superior courts to include drafting pleadings, liaising with counsel (where applicable) and management of case files to conclusion.
  • Working with senior department members on a variety of litigation matters.
  • Interpreting, analysing and advising clients on relevant case law and legislation.
  • Management of the client relationship.
  • Advising clients on ADR options, and participating in mediations and arbitrations.
  • Advising clients on how to resolve disputes effectively.

Requirements

Suitable candidates will be able to demonstrate:

Risk Management

  • Maintain awareness of your role in managing professional risk issues.
  • Comply with all of the Firm's policies & procedures; attend risk briefings & support Firm-wide risk management initiatives.
  • Adhere to the file review and closure process and ensure all open and in-active matters are reviewed and closed as appropriate.
  • Support the implementation of the Firm's LEXCEL System.

Client Service

  • The ability to develop and maintain excellent working relationships with clients - has a good understanding of clients' needs and an ability to meet their demands.
  • Driven to provide a highly professional quality service at all times - consistently delivering to clients clear and concise advice, and a high level of service, that meets the client's business needs and their expectations of a Solicitor.

Commercial Awareness/Business Acumen

  • Through the generation of fees demonstrates an ability to make a contribution to the overall income of the Firm.
  • Conducts work in a commercially efficient and profitable manner.

Business Development

  • Demonstrates an ability to attract new business/clients.
  • Networks externally to publicise the Firm in an effective manner.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of the internal market.

Managing Relationships

  • Demonstrates an ability to handle relationships at all levels, both internally and externally.
  • Delegation - mentors and coaches junior team members.

Legal Knowledge & Expertise

  • Demonstrates the required level of technical knowledge and competency in their legal area(s) of expertise.
  • Contribution to Knowledge - shares knowledge and learning with others in the Firm.

Firm Contribution

  • Demonstrates a commitment to the Firm's goals, its ethos and culture.
  • Participates in events to assist and promote the profile of the Firm.
  • Staff may be requested to carry out such reasonable tasks as may from time to time occur.
