Set the group-wide standards for mapping each of the end-to-end processes in the Process Universe that drive the transition to process led risk management

HEAD OF PROCESS MAPPING

Job Purpose:

Set the group-wide standards for mapping each of the end-to-end processes in the Process Universe that drive the transition to process led risk management. Oversee the process mapping to a high and consistent standard and the management, maintenance and governance of the process maps. Embed the Process Ownership standards and establish an active group-wide Process Modelling community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set the minimum standards for the identification, capture, maintenance and reporting of end-to-end processes in the Process Universe which enable process led risk management and related policy and framework documentation
  • Oversee group-wide end-to-end process mapping to a high and consistent standard
  • Embed the Process Ownership standards in line with SEAR and regulatory obligations
  • Design end-to-end process mapping and training, in line with process mapping architecture, and provide mentoring to modellers and process owners, to enable high and consistent standard
  • Oversee final review and quality assurance of completed end-to-end processes in the Process Universe
  • Oversee the management, maintenance and governance of the process maps, enabled by internal system and own the management and maintenance of the Group core process management application including optimising its use with regards to process led risk management
  • Set the governance and standards for changing key / end-to-end processes and manage the change governance for the Group Process Universe and the Process Ownership Model
  • Enable the development of an active modeller community
  • Engage senior stakeholder across the organisation in order to develop and embed sustainable process mapping and process management capability to enable process led risk management.

Essential Skills & Experience

Reflecting the senior level of the role and its responsibilities, the individual must be able to demonstrate:

Technical:

  • Extensive experience of operating at a senior risk management level in a financial services organisation.
  • Demonstrable understanding of operational risk, internal governance and associated regulatory and industry guidelines for risk management and mitigation in financial services.
  • Proven track record of leading divisional or Group-wide change.
  • Strong understanding of end to end process mapping for process led risk management and setting the standards, management, maintenance and governance of process maps.

Strategic & Leadership:

  • An ability to collaborate, challenge and influence at senior levels inside and outside the organisation including senior executive and Board level; and engaging with regulators and external stakeholders as required. This includes providing strategic risk analysis and risk perspectives to inform key risk and Group decisions related to the Process Improvement Programme.
  • Credibility, gravitas, resilience and independence to influence proposals or challenge decisions relating to Process

Mapping

  • Proven track record in operating effectively with Group businesses and functions demonstrating excellent co- ordination, influencing and relationship building skills.
  • Experience of leading and achieving significant uplift in capability in risk management practices.
  • Extensive experience of leading a team of professionals including ensuring there are appropriate skills, capabilities and up to date industry knowledge on the team to provide a best in class process mapping approach and outcomes.
  • Strong track record in the areas of solving problems, delivering quality, achieving results and thinking strategically.
