Job Description

A super opportunity for a Finance & Operations Manager to join a charity organisation that supports young women. This role would suit a Qualified Financial Accountant or a Part Qualified Accountant

This is an exciting time to join the company as they continue to develop a five year strategy to empower more women in Ireland.

12 month Fixed term Contract. Salary is €50,000 pro rata (€40K on a part time basis - based on a 30 hour week)

Location - Dublin 2 (Flexible hybrid options)

Job Summary

The Finance and Operations Manager will work closely with the Board of Directors and General Secretary. Reporting to the General Secretary, the person will be responsible for oversight of all aspects of Ireland's business development, and financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

The post holder will be responsible for:

  • Leading and continuously developing a professional finance function that adds value to the effective operation of the charity;
  • Continuously improving the quality of financial management information, systems and processes, ensuring the operation of strong internal controls;
  • Oversight and consolidation of financial planning and budget control of existing resources
  • Management of properties including planning applications, sale/purchase of property, property upgrading, tenancies and negotiating lease agreements
  • Consolidating a business plan
  • Providing support for Managers in developing annual and operational plans and business plans
  • Management of the annual audit and its implementation
  • Preparation of financial reports for board meetings and finance committee meetings
  • Attending board and finance committee meetings as required
  • Preparation of quarterly risk assessments and updating the risk register regularly
  • Responsibility for creating and updating financial policies

Essential

· Third level qualification in Business Management, Finance, Accountancy or a related field;

· Knowledge of charity law, governance and financial regulation for non-profits in the Republic of Ireland;

· Experience of investment portfolio management;

· Experience of property management
