Airfreight Operative

Job Description

Our client, a national leader in the logistics industry, is looking for an airfreight specialist to join their expanding supply chain team for a permanent position in North Dublin

Role Overview:

Our client is a global name in the logistics industry - who now require an experienced Air Freight Specialist to join their team based in North Dublin. This role is a full-time permanent position (Office Based) Monday - Friday 9am-5.30pm. You will join an existing busy team in a company that is growing - so career development opportunities are certainly attainable over the coming years.

The Position:

• The successful candidate will have full knowledge of A-Z Freight Operations (import and export) - ideally with two years' experience in the Irish market.
• Day-to-day management of all assigned Air Operations in conjunction with Air Freight legislation.
• Deliver an effective/quality customer service
• Effective communication with internal and external teams and groups
• Maintain an ongoing understanding of the customers business enabling the operation to develop proactively to meet and exceed customer needs.
• Support the Management in general and or ad-hoc project requirements.
• Manage Delivery schedules.
• Arrange direct/drop shipments from Suppliers to Customers/Dealers.
• Arrange for transport of cargo with Carrier's and agree rates where no tariffs exist, maximise cost effectiveness, ensure accounting deadlines are met.

The Person:

• Candidate should be living and fully eligible to work in Ireland. Own transport is desirable.
• Candidates will have key account management knowledge - with excellent communication and IT skills.
• Customer focused individual with the ability to understand the customer requirements in order that operations solutions meet / exceed customer expectations.
• Working experience in a related area of the business (Supply Chain, Transport management, Sales, etc.)
• 1-3 years' experience in Shipping / International trade with Multi-Modal freight experience a distinct advantage.
• Computer Literate with MS Office (Word, Excel & Outlook).
• Very strong interpersonal skills.
