Operations Accountant with a leading Irish Agricultural Business. You will work closely with the Finance Director to manage the operational spend for the business.
We have been engaged by a leading Irish Agricultural business to recruit an Operations Accountant for their Head Office in Cork.
In this role you will work closely with the Operations Director & Finance Director.
Main focus of the role is to support the Operations Director to manage the operational spend for the Irish business units.
Emphasis on reporting of KPI's which are used to monitor and benchmark the various plants, ensuring that the financial impact of key operational decisions are reflected, and that cost reduction/operating efficiencies are to the forefront of any decision making process.
The role is diverse with emphasis on "making things happen" and communication between operations and finance.
Preparation of Accounts / Forecasts / Budgets / Reporting to Group for one of the Group's business units
Implement KPI reporting for Production volumes, Outputs per shift, Shutdown time, Manpower, Overtime Hours etc
Prepare Operational month end journals
Review month end accruals submitted by Plant Managers for accuracy
Review monthly Operational spend
Forecast Operational spend
Challenge all operational costs, review and analyse costs - drive cost control, understand drivers, present findings
Requirements for the Role:
Fully Qualified Accountant with 5+ years industry experience
Good communication skills, commercial awareness, analytical ability, attention to detail, initiative, enthusiasm, inquisitive and a strong work ethic
Strong Excel or ERP experience
Experience working in Agri sector would be an advantage
