Core Job Responsibilities
- Risk Framework Development & Oversight: Developing, maintaining, and monitoring local risk appetite frameworks, ensuring compliance with policies, standards, and regulatory requirements (e.g., Risk-Based Capital).
- Financial & Insurance Risk Management: Identifying, evaluating, and managing financial risks including market, credit, counterparty, and liquidity risks.
- Asset-Liability Management (ALM): Supporting strategic asset allocation (SAA) reviews, monitoring risk-based decision-making for investments, and conducting ALM analysis.
- Valuation & Reporting: Leading the modeling of insurance risks under economic valuation regimes and contributing to the annual Own Risk and Solvency Assessment (ORSA) report.
- Second-Line Review: Providing independent, 2nd line risk oversight of new products, corporate transactions, and strategic initiatives, challenging assumptions and supporting decision-making.
- Stakeholder Management: Liaising with regulators, Group Office, and internal teams to report on risk exposure, emerging risks, and experience monitoring.
Key Qualifications & Background
- At least 8-10 years of experience in actuarial roles, with a strong focus on financial risk management in the life insurance sector.
- Qualified actuary, holding Fellowship status (e.g., FSA/FCIA/FIA).
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills to influence risk-based decision-making at a senior level.
- Excellent command of Cantonese and English
