Business Analyst (insurance), contract

Responsibilities

• Partner with business stakeholders, product managers, UX designers, and technology teams to gather, analyze, and document business requirements aligned with strategic objectives.

• Translate business requirements into well-structured user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, and functional specifications.

• Own and maintain product and sprint backlogs, ensuring requirements are prioritized, refined, and ready for development.

• Facilitate requirement workshops, backlog grooming sessions, sprint planning, and other Agile ceremonies to drive alignment across teams.

• Create process maps, customer journey flows, wireframes, and business rules to support solution design and delivery.

• Work closely with development, QA, and business teams to ensure a shared understanding of requirements and proposed solutions.

• Support the business team during user acceptance testing (UAT).

• Ensure compliance with regulatory, risk, and governance requirements throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Information Systems, or a related field.

• 6-10 years' experience as a Business Analyst in the insurance industry.

• Excellent spoken and written communication skills in both Cantonese and English.

• Proven track record of delivering customer-facing digital products, including mobile apps and web platforms.

• Strong understanding of the end-to-end insurance value chain: products, policy lifecycle, customer journeys, regulatory requirements, and market practices.

• Solid knowledge of Life Insurance operations, including policy servicing, underwriting, and claims management.

• Hands-on experience in Agile delivery environments, including backlog management, user story creation, sprint planning, refinement sessions, and other Agile ceremonies.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate business needs into clear, actionable requirements.

• Experience using JIRA and Confluence for backlog management, requirements documentation, and Agile delivery tracking.

• Understanding of APIs, system integrations, and digital platform architectures, with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical teams.

• Self-motivated and proactive; able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
