My client is looking for a commercially minded tax professional who thrives on translating complex regulations into strategic business advice - engaging at stakeholders at all levels.
The Role
The incumbent will report directly to the Head of Product and Operational Taxes, acting as a key business partner to the Global Platform Solutions division. Your main focus will be the Workplace Investing (Pensions) business, alongside retail platforms delivering personal pensions and ISA products directly to investors and IFAs.
Key Responsibilities
- You will have previous experience in providing expert tax advice on new business initiatives, identifying exposures and guiding senior leadership on risk mitigation.
- The right person will have a background in delivering tax sign-off for Product, Operational, and Marketing teams regarding new product launches and legislative changes.
- You will be expected to support HMRC and customer-facing Product Tax compliance, leading on high-stakes tax year-end processes.
- As the Senior Tax Manager, you will be responsible for driving the improvement of product tax systems to scale efficiency across the business unit.
- You will have exposure in monitoring UK legislative updates, translating complex tax changes into clear, actionable briefings for non-tax specialists.
- You will also be expected to maintain and mature the Product Tax Risk Control Frameworks across the Pensions and ISA businesses.
- You previous experience must include building a robust internal network and managing external relationships with tax authorities, auditors, industry bodies, and consultants.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- CTA, AIIT, CA, ACA, or equivalent deep financial services experience in Product Taxes.
- Strong knowledge of UK Taxes Acts, HMRC guidance, and regulatory concepts governing UK pensions and savings products.
- Ability to adopt a 'big picture' approach to problem-solving, using data to mitigate risks and anticipate market trends.
- Experience with PAYE rules, ISAs, FATCA, and CRS is highly advantageous.
