    Senior Business Development Executive

    London Permanent £55k - £60k

    Senior Business Development Executive

    About the job

Our client is a well-established international law firm seeking a Senior Business Development Executive to strengthen its business development offering and support the continued expansion of its key practice areas. This is an opportunity to join a collaborative team and work closely with legal professionals and senior stakeholders to deliver impactful marketing and growth initiatives.

The successful candidate will take ownership of a varied portfolio of content-led business development activities, spanning legal rankings, client proposals, firm credentials and market-facing publications. The role would suit an experienced professional with strong editorial judgement, a commercial outlook and the ability to turn complex information into engaging, client-focused materials.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Oversee the planning and preparation of directory entries and award applications, gathering input from relevant stakeholders and ensuring submissions effectively showcase the firm's expertise and achievements.
    • Coordinate the production of client proposals, tender responses and presentation materials, tailoring content to demonstrate the firm's capabilities and address specific business opportunities.
    • Develop and maintain a central collection of case studies, representative matters and professional biographies, ensuring these can be readily adapted for different audiences and commercial purposes.
    • Identify opportunities to promote the firm's expertise through articles, industry commentary and other thought leadership initiatives, collaborating with lawyers to develop relevant and timely content.
    • Work alongside marketing and communications colleagues to deliver integrated campaigns, events and other initiatives designed to strengthen client relationships and raise the firm's profile.
    • Ensure online practice information, lawyer biographies and supporting marketing materials accurately reflect the firm's services, expertise and wider business priorities.
    • Liaise with partners, associates and internal support teams to coordinate content development, secure stakeholder contributions and maintain momentum across business development projects.
    • Evaluate directory performance and keep abreast of developments within the legal sector, using findings to inform improvements to future submissions and marketing activity.
    • Take responsibility for coordinating multiple assignments from initial briefing through to final delivery, maintaining high standards of accuracy and ensuring deadlines are achieved.

    Experience Required

    • Four or more years' experience in a business development or marketing position, ideally gained within a legal or wider professional services setting.
    • A strong background in preparing directory submissions, industry award applications and tailored commercial proposals.
    • Familiarity with the legal services market and an appreciation of how firms differentiate their expertise and respond to changing client requirements.
    • Experience creating professional content and developing thought leadership in collaboration with subject matter experts.
    • Highly developed writing and editorial skills, with the ability to present detailed or technical information in an accessible and persuasive manner.
    • Excellent planning skills and the ability to organise complex workloads, coordinate multiple contributors and deliver projects within tight timeframes.
    • Strong interpersonal skills and the confidence to work with senior professionals, challenge constructively and secure input from busy stakeholders.
    • Commercial awareness and an understanding of how effective marketing and business development can support client retention, new business generation and wider firm objectives.
    • Competence in Microsoft Office and experience working with client relationship management systems, databases or digital content tools.
    • A self-motivated and adaptable working style, with the initiative to take ownership of tasks while contributing to a supportive and results-oriented team.
