 Our client is a leading real estate asset manager with a strong track record across equity and debt strategies. The business manages a diverse portfolio spanning commercial and residential assets across the UK and Europe. Due to maternity leave, they are seeking an experienced Fund Controller to join their London team on an 11-month fixed term contract.
The Role
 The Fund Controller will take full ownership of a mezzanine debt fund, managing all aspects of financial control, reporting, and governance. This is a hands-on role requiring a commercially minded finance professional with experience in real estate and debt investments.
Key Responsibilities
- Take full responsibility for the financial management and reporting of a mezzanine debt fund.
 
- Prepare annual financial statements under relevant accounting standards.
 
- Manage quarterly and annual investor reporting packs, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
 
- Oversee fund-level accounting, performance analysis, and variance reporting.
 
- Coordinate the annual audit process, liaising with auditors and other external stakeholders.
 
- Support the wider finance team with group consolidations and management reporting as required.
 
- Maintain strong financial controls, ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards.
 
- Partner with asset management and investment teams to provide financial insights and support decision-making.
 
- Assist with system improvements and process optimisation, particularly within Yardi.
 
Key Requirements
- Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent).
 
- Proven experience in fund control, financial reporting, or a similar role within real estate or debt funds.
 
- Strong technical accounting knowledge (UK GAAP / IFRS).
 
- Experience working with Yardi or similar fund accounting systems preferred.
 
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively across finance, investment, and external stakeholders.
 
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities to tight deadlines.
