We are partnering confidentially with the UK subsidiary of a leading international bank to recruit a Finance Manager. This is a hands-on, broad-based finance role: you will manage key financial control activities, support statutory reporting, oversee daily operations, and work closely with a small, collaborative finance team.

Our client is the UK subsidiary of a leading international bank. Headquartered in London, it provides a range of wholesale banking and investment services and is regulated by the PRA and FCA. The bank has built a strong reputation for combining international reach with deep regional expertise, serving corporate, institutional, and government clients. Operating as a subsidiary gives the UK entity a clear governance framework, direct engagement with UK regulators, and an influential role within the wider group.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily and monthly financial control activities, including daily reconciliations, journal preparation, and approvals.
- Review and approve accounts payable and receivable activity, intercompany transactions, and billing processes.
- Support statutory reporting, liaising with external auditors, and preparing tables and disclosures for annual accounts.
- Ensure compliance with HMRC, ONS, and other regulatory requirements, including VAT, tax payments, and withholding tax documentation.
- Maintain accurate financial records and balance sheet substantiation, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
- Oversee junior team members in AP and Financial Analysis.
- Drive improvements in financial processes and internal controls, maintaining up-to-date documentation.
- Collaborate with colleagues across departments to support accurate reporting and compliance.
Your Profile
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent), 2-3 years post qualified.
- 1-3 years' experience in financial control within banking or asset management, ideally in a subsidiary or smaller bank environment.
- Strong accounting knowledge and practical experience with IFRS.
- Excellent Excel and IT skills, with strong process analysis and risk awareness.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks independently.
- Strong communication skills, able to collaborate across teams and engage with senior management.
- Positive, proactive attitude with the ability to challenge constructively and drive improvements.
