Our client is a legal firm hiring for an Accounts Assistant in their finance team.
This is an attractice **Remote working** role.
The legal firm are looking for a qualified or part-qualified accountant to join their finance team and take ownership of core accounting operations, especially payroll and accounts payable.
Responsibilities of Accounts Assistant:
Running monthly payroll for 100+ employees, including commission calculations, hourly wages, and temporary pay adjustments
Processing supplier invoices, maintaining accurate records, and supporting payment runs
Collaborating with the Client Banking team to reconcile revenue and accounts receivable
Performing daily bank reconciliations
Posting and approving journal entries for month-end and year-end close
Over time, your role will expand to include:
Supporting the preparation of monthly management accounts, cash flow forecasts, and margin analysis
Preparing quarterly VAT returns
Producing internal reports and financial analysis
Assisting with year-end financial statements and audits
Experience required of Accouts Asssitant:
Experienced: You've managed payroll for 100+ employees and worked in similar accounting roles for at least 3 years
Qualified: You're AAT Level 3/4, ACCA qualified or part-qualified (papers F1-F9), or have equivalent experience
Tech-savvy: You're comfortable with cloud-based accounting systems like Xero or QuickBooks
Detail-oriented: You spot errors others miss, but you focus on outcomes, not just process
Agile: You can switch contexts quickly and work efficiently in a fast-moving, remote environment
Collaborative: You're a team player who communicates clearly and contributes to improving systems and workflows
Proactive: You bring ideas for automating and improving routine processes
