We're looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Finance Manager to join our team in Milton Keynes on a 6-month fixed-term contract. This is a hands-on role, ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is confident overseeing both transactional finance and financial reporting functions. You'll manage a small team, ensure robust financial controls are maintained, and play a key role in accurate and timely reporting to both group and statutory authorities.
Oversee the end-to-end financial reporting process, ensuring timely and accurate monthly and quarterly financial accounts.
Deliver high-quality profit and loss and balance sheet reporting, aligned with group standards.
Ensure accurate group reporting and contribute to quarter-end reporting packs.
Manage all tax-related submissions, including interim corporation tax payments and instalments.
Submit all required statutory returns and payments (e.g. VAT, confirmation statements) in a timely and compliant manner.
Lead the Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) functions, approving invoices and maintaining oversight of the ledger.
Maintain and enhance financial controls, including segregation of duties, balance sheet reconciliations, and disbursement approvals.
Manage a team of three direct reports, providing support, development, and performance oversight.
Support the business with ad hoc financial requirements as needed.
Qualified or part-qualified accountant (CIMA / ACCA / ACA) or qualified by experience.
Strong technical finance knowledge with hands-on experience in financial reporting and control.
Previous experience managing a finance team or function.
Strong understanding of UK statutory requirements (VAT, corporation tax, etc.).
High attention to detail with excellent time management and organisational skills.
Confident communicator, able to work effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
