Job Description

A well-established top 50 central London based firm are looking to recruit a Senior Accountant for their Business Services Unit.

A well-established, 20 Partner, London-based firm is looking for a Senior Accountant. This is a brand-new role that has come about due to the growth of the firm's already considerable client base. Within the firm you will be working with an exciting and wide range of clientele. Amongst other sectors, they have a niche orientated focus in the legal, pharmaceutical, healthcare and property sectors. They have recently focused on building a reputation in the field of media and entertainment, which now accounts for around 40% of the practice, including some big names within the industry. There is a great opportunity for progression within the firm, they have a low staff turnover, a great work-life balance, a fine social culture and are a great firm to work for of their size in London.

As a Senior Accountant you will have a minimum of 2 years' experience in accounts preparation assignments in Practice. An accounting qualification such as ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent is essential for the role. You will also have a strong working knowledge of accounting software from Microsoft office to Xero, Sage, VT and CCH Central.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare accounts from clients' records
  • Prepare an accurate working paper file
  • Review financial accounts and VAT returns
  • Computation of Income Tax, Corporation Tax, VAT and PAYE
  • Respond to all client and Partner telephone requests.
  • Undertake any work with a view to profitability and use the opportunity to review WIP and debtors.
  • Assist Partners in client meetings, if requested to do so. Acting as a responsible member of the team, providing support, development, and guidance to more junior members.
  • Producing work for manager and partner review which requires little further input, clearly highlights issues, and provides potential solutions to issues identified;
  • Provide assistance to the accounts team and manager as required.
  • Manage your workload to ensure all deadlines are met.
