Fast-growing and ambitious firm is looking for a likeminded individual, with solid technical understanding, to join the audit and accounts team. The firm prides itself in creating value for its clients (which includes companies and private individual clients, ranging from international companies (with $100m + turnover to owner managed businesses) and supporting its staff achieve their full potential.
The firm services both domestic and international clients and its reach is further extended through its International networks, made up of several accountancy practices across the globe (including USA, India, Netherlands, France, Singapore, Canada etc), who the firm works closely together with.
The Audit team has clients, including international clients in the UK, start-ups, established UK companies (UK and Irish companies and UK LLP's) and European subsidiaries of well-known international companies. Clients include those in pharmaceuticals, IT, investment property companies, FCA regulated companies and solicitors.
Aside from carrying out statutory audits, the jobholder will also be involved with quarterly limited reviews, solicitors accounts rules audits, FCA audits and other assurance assignments.
Audit Senior. Your role will be split between audit and accounts, with responsibilities including:
Audit (70% of the role)
Proactively assist in the management of several clients, while reporting to Audit Managers on multiple audit assignments simultaneously
Carrying out the planning, execution and finalisation of the audit assignment
Ensuring that appropriate and sufficient documentation has been obtained to support the opinion and documenting all conclusions
Taking primary responsibility for monitoring progress against budget, bringing issues to the attention of the Manager
Establishing strong and effective working relationships with new and established clients
Mentoring supervising and assisting junior staff, including allocating them work, briefing them on what is expected of them and reviewing work
Identifying and understanding client needs, including sometimes providing initial solutions to client challenges
Keeping to date with local and national business and economic issues
Accounts (30% of the role)
Preparing financial statements for limited companies, LLP's, partnerships and sole traders from trial balance stage and incomplete records
Preparation of the Company's corporation tax computation and return
What you'll need to succeed
To succeed in this role, you will need to:
Have recently qualified as an ACA/ACCA or equivalent
Have a minimum of 3 years of relevant audit and accounts experience and a good understanding of the ISAs, UK GAAP and IFRS
Be someone that is ambitious/driven and is looking for progression in their career
A team-player, demonstrating that they have the willingness to support others
Have the ability to work under pressure and deliver results
Have had previous experience of supervising junior members of staff
Be flexible to travel
