Clinical Psychologist (Trauma & Protection Focus)

    Singapore Permanent Competitive

Clinical Psychologist (Trauma & Protection Focus)

    About the job

    About the Role

Imagine entering a workspace where every assessment, session, and case conference directly shapes the safety, recovery, and future of a vulnerable child or family.

As a Clinical Psychologist on our team, your month one won't be spent reading static manuals. You will step directly into active case triaging, conducting comprehensive psychological assessments, and building trauma-informed formulations for complex family dynamics. You will work alongside a multidisciplinary network of social workers, medical professionals, and protection agencies-translating psychological science into immediate, life-changing interventions.

Whether you are delivering individual therapy to a young person navigating acute stress, leading reflective practice sessions for frontline staff, or refining service protocols based on recent research, this role gives you the clinical autonomy and institutional support to drive meaningful systemic impact.

    What You Will Do

    1. Direct Clinical Care & Crisis Intervention

    • Triage & Risk Assessment: Evaluate incoming referrals to determine appropriateness for internal psychological services or coordinate warm handovers to specialized external partners.

    • Comprehensive Psychological Evaluation: Conduct evidence-based assessments for children, youth, and caregivers facing severe distress, trauma, or protection concerns; synthesize complex data into actionable recommendations.

    • Trauma-Informed Therapy: Formulate and execute evidence-based individual, group, and family therapeutic plans tailored to address trauma, emotional regulation, and family disruption.

    • Crisis Management: Provide timely, psychology-grounded crisis containment and debriefing during high-risk incidents.

    2. Multidisciplinary Collaboration & Team Guidance

    • Inter-Agency Case Conferences: Present case formulations and clinical insights during multidisciplinary reviews with social services, healthcare institutions, and statutory authorities.

    • Reflective Practice & Mentorship: Lead reflective practice sessions and case consultations for the broader care team. (Senior candidates will actively supervise Associate Psychologists).

    • Work Process Enhancement: Contribute to therapeutic framework updates, safety protocols, and clinical standards within the department.

    3. Service Development, Evaluation & Applied Research

    • Translational Practice: Participate in department evaluation projects-collecting data, analyzing outcome metrics, and translating evidence into clinical workflow improvements.

    • Knowledge Sharing: Design and deliver training modules for internal teams and external ecosystem partners; represent the organization at local conferences or academic collaborations.

    What We Are Looking For

    Must-Have Qualifications

    • Academic Credentials: Master's or Doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology, Counselling Psychology, or Forensic Psychology from an accredited institution.

    • Professional Registration: Eligible for full registration with the Singapore Psychological Society (SPS) / Singapore Register of Psychologists (SRP), or an internationally recognized equivalent governing body.

    • Clinical Experience: Minimum 2 to 4 years of post-qualification clinical experience working directly with children, youth, and families in a clinical, community, or protection environment.

    • Core Clinical Competencies: Proven mastery of psychological assessment tools, diagnostic interview techniques, and structured case formulation methods under tight timelines.

    • Communication & Resilience: Demonstrated ability to write rigorous, objective clinical reports, communicate complex psychological findings clearly to non-clinical stakeholders, and manage emotionally demanding caseloads professionally.

    Nice-to-Have Skills

    • Specialized training in trauma frameworks (e.g., TF-CBT, EMDR, Somatic Experiencing).

    • Prior experience in child protection, family violence intervention, or forensic/court-facing assessment settings.

    • Track record of clinical supervision or peer mentoring.

    • Familiarity with program evaluation tools and applied healthcare/social service research methodologies.

    Why Join Us?

    • Direct Systemic Impact: Move beyond routine counseling to work on high-leverage cases where psychological practice safeguards vulnerable lives.

    • Continuous Professional Growth: Dedicated support for supervision, professional development hours, and opportunities to lead service-level research and training initiatives.

    • Collaborative Ecosystem: Work in a supportive environment alongside passionate professionals where reflective practice and self-care are prioritized.

    Application Process

To apply, please submit your updated Curriculum Vitae highlighting your relevant clinical experience and professional registration status.

Note: Only shortlisted candidates will be notified.
