This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established and growing organisation in a senior leadership position, overseeing complex warehouse operations across Food, Pharmaceutical and General Warehousing.
Reporting to the Operations Director, you will play a pivotal role in driving operational excellence, developing high-performing teams and delivering exceptional customer service. Working closely with Quality, Transport, IT, HR and commercial stakeholders, you will help shape operational strategy while ensuring best-in-class service delivery.

You will lead multiple warehouse functions, champion continuous improvement initiatives and build strong, long-term customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategy
- Provide strategic leadership across multiple warehouse operations, ensuring business objectives are delivered through effective planning and execution.
- Develop workforce and succession plans to support future growth and operational capability.
- Lead, coach and mentor managers, supervisors and operational teams, creating a high-performance culture focused on engagement and accountability.
- Drive performance management, talent development and capacity planning across the operation.
- Monitor operational performance, allocate resources effectively and ensure key milestones and deadlines are achieved.
- Analyse operational challenges, assess risks and make commercially sound decisions.
- Promote clear communication and collaboration across departments.
- Embed continuous improvement practices through regular operational reviews, Gemba walks and process confirmation.
- Lead operational improvement projects in partnership with internal teams, suppliers and contractors.
Operational Excellence
- Oversee the day-to-day performance of warehouse operations, ensuring customer requirements are delivered On Time and In Full (OTIF).
- Drive consistency across warehouse operations by implementing and maintaining SOPs and operational KPIs.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, productivity and resource utilisation while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.
- Ensure all warehouse operations remain audit-ready and compliant with relevant quality and regulatory requirements.
- Lead investigations and root cause analysis following incidents or non-conformances, implementing effective corrective actions.
- Champion best practice in Health & Safety, hygiene, housekeeping and quality standards.
- Maintain high standards of stock control, product integrity and warehouse security.
- Utilise business systems including Microsoft 365, SharePoint and operational management platforms to support reporting and performance.
Customer Relationship Management
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key customer stakeholders.
- Lead customer review meetings, presenting operational performance across key metrics including productivity, storage utilisation, OTIF performance, overtime, complaints and improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with customers to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and enhanced service delivery.
- Build trusted partnerships that contribute to long-term customer satisfaction and business growth.
Performance Reporting
- Produce accurate daily, weekly and monthly operational KPI reports.
- Deliver monthly customer reporting including productivity, warehouse capacity and service performance.
- Support payroll, customer billing and operational cost reporting.
- Work closely with Finance on budgeting, forecasting and cost management.
- Use operational data and analytics to identify trends, drive improvements and support strategic decision-making.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- A minimum of 3-4 years' experience managing large operational teams within a fast-paced environment.
- Proven experience leading managers and developing high-performing teams.
- Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency across Microsoft Office and operational systems.
- Warehouse or logistics experience is advantageous, although candidates with transferable operational leadership experience from other industries will also be considered.
