Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and protect a global trademark portfolio aligned with brand strategy.
- Conduct clearance searches, risk assessments, and manage global registrations.
- Monitor and enforce against unauthorized trademark use and manage takedown processes.
- Draft and review contracts, and handle disputes or litigation involving trademarks and copyrights.
- Provide legal advice, training, and compliance guidelines on trademark and copyright matters.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience:
- Practical experience in trademark clearance and registration processes (domestic and international).
- Corporate experience handling copyright matters, including generative AI-related content.
- Ability to assess infringement risks in trademark and copyright cases.
Soft Skills:
- Detail-oriented with strong risk management and communication skills.
Language Requirements
- Japanese: Fluent (required for domestic filings and compliance).
- English: Intermediate to Business level (for global communication and documentation).
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Experience managing IP disputes or litigation.
- Prior leadership or management experience.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Intellectual Property Management Skills Test, Patent Attorney, or Attorney-at-Law).
