A rapidly growing automotive technology company is seeking an experienced Senior HR Business Partner (HRBP) to partner with business leaders and drive strategic people initiatives across its Japan organization.
This is a highly influential role where you will work directly with senior leadership to shape people strategy, strengthen organizational effectiveness, and build a high-performance culture. You will play a key role in leadership development, organizational design, talent management, succession planning, and employee engagement while helping the business navigate growth and transformation.
With fewer than 100 employees in Japan and strong global collaboration, this position offers the opportunity to make a visible impact within an innovative, international, and people-focused organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with business leaders across Japan to align people strategies with business objectives and organizational growth plans.
- Drive organizational design, workforce planning, and change management initiatives to enhance business performance.
- Lead leadership development, learning and development, and coaching programs to strengthen management capabilities.
- Coach managers and senior leaders on employee engagement, leadership effectiveness, team performance, and feedback practices.
- Support performance management, talent reviews, succession planning, and global talent initiatives.
- Provide guidance on employee relations matters while ensuring compliance with Japan labor regulations.
- Collaborate with regional and global HR teams to implement best practices and people programs.
- Foster an inclusive, high-performance culture that supports employee growth and business success.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience:
- 10+ years of experience in Human Resources, including significant HR Business Partner experience.
- Strong background in strategic HR, organizational development, leadership development, and talent management.
- Experience supporting senior stakeholders and leadership teams within international organizations.
- Proven expertise in organizational design, change management, succession planning, and employee relations.
- Strong knowledge of Japanese Labor Law and HR compliance requirements.
- Experience working in multicultural, global, and people-centric organizations.

- Experience working in matrix organizations and cross-functional environments.
