International team in fintech company looking for experienced Data Scientist
Roles/Responsibilities
- As a Senior Data Scientist, you will engage in data science initiatives that span marketing, user experience, product development, and financial strategy areas. You will solve all kinds of problems and answer questions in these areas based on data.
- You will enable the organization to implement effective product enhancements and informed strategic choices for their strategy.
- Your contributions will directly influence the experiences of consumers and merchants alike, shaping pivotal business strategies for the organization's future.
- You will have regular collaboration with business leaders in various teams and the executive team.
- You swiftly grasp project requirements, propose innovative solutions, and enhance the department's capabilities through the development of feature engineering pipelines, predictive models, customized data marts, forecasting algorithms, Scala Spark packages, and modifications to Looker models.
Required skills
- Over 5 years of experience as a Data Scientist within technology, media, marketing, or entertainment sectors, addressing complex business challenges.
- Proficiency in extracting insights and crafting features from extensive datasets (such as clickstream data, app interaction data, and streaming service logs) utilizing big data frameworks like Athena, Spark, Hive, and BigQuery.
- Familiarity with business intelligence tools such as Looker or Tableau, as Looker dashboards are a primary resource for us for delivering data science solutions.
- Experience in developing predictive models that tackle real-world business challenges in the technology domain, with knowledge of production machine learning pipelines using managed services like Sagemaker considered advantageous.
- Strong foundational skills in statistics, along with experience in designing and assessing experiments aimed at influencing customer behavior.
- Competence in constructing ETL pipelines using orchestration tools like Prefect, Airflow, or Argo.
- Experience with GitHub and managing a staging-production environment for ETL and machine learning pipelines.
- Exceptional proficiency in SQL (including the ability to write efficient queries on large partitioned tables) and Python.
- Fluent in English.
