Join a global healthcare organization as a Sales Training Manager, responsible for driving commercial training strategy and elevating sales team capabilities across Japan. In this role, you will design structured learning programs, localize global training initiatives, assess competency needs, and support continuous development for commercial teams. You will collaborate closely with global and regional stakeholders to enhance sales excellence, improve performance, and strengthen long-term organizational capability.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop annual learning plans and structured training schedules for new and experienced staff
- Design and enhance core training modules covering customer insights, market understanding, selling approaches, and product knowledge
- Localize and implement global learning initiatives in partnership with international teams
- Identify competency gaps within the sales force and drive targeted development actions
- Evaluate future skill requirements and propose proactive learning solutions
- Create individualized learning plans in collaboration with field trainers
- Oversee the use, maintenance, and adoption of sales enablement platforms and learning management systems
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of experience designing or delivering training programs, ideally within regulated or technical industries
- Previous sales experience with strong understanding of field team dynamics
- Proven experience improving sales capability through structured learning
Soft Skills:
- Strong presentation, facilitation, and communication skills
- Ability to influence stakeholders, drive alignment, and manage expectations
- Effective at strategic planning while capable of hands-on execution
- Ability to travel domestically and occasionally overseas
Language Requirements:
- Japanese: Native-level, with excellent writing and communication skills
- English: Conversational to Business level, capable of participating in discussions with overseas teams
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in commercial excellence, sales enablement, or BI/SFE functions
- Familiarity with LMS, digital learning tools, or sales platform management
