Private Equity Vice President - Global PE Investment Team

A leading Global Private Equity Fund is seeking a Vice President (VP) to join its Tokyo investment team. This senior investment role focuses on deal origination, investment evaluation, and transaction execution across the Japanese market. You will work closely with senior partners to identify new investment opportunities, analyze potential targets, and drive strategic transactions that support long-term portfolio growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead investment origination activities, identifying and sourcing new investment opportunities in Japan.
• Screen and evaluate potential investment targets across multiple industries.
• Conduct detailed financial statement analysis and valuation assessments to support investment decisions.
• Support and lead investment transaction execution, including coordination with advisors and internal stakeholders.
• Work with internal investment teams to develop strategic insights and contribute to portfolio growth initiatives.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Experience:

• Minimum 7 years of experience in Investment Banking, Private Equity, or Strategy Consulting based in Japan.
• Hands-on experience with M&A transactions or Post-Merger Integration (PMI).
• Strong experience conducting financial analysis, valuation, and investment assessment.
• Proven experience working on investment transactions within the Japanese market.

• Strong analytical and structured problem-solving ability.
• Ability to manage complex investment projects in a fast-paced financial environment.
• Strong stakeholder communication and collaboration skills.
• High attention to detail and strong decision-making capability.

Language Requirements:

• Japanese: Native level
• English: Business level

• Experience leading private equity investment transactions.
• Strong financial modeling and presentation capabilities.
• Experience supporting portfolio value creation or operational improvement initiatives.
