Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, terms of use, and transaction structures for group products and services
- Provide legal advice on consumer protection, data privacy, payment services, and IT-related laws and regulations
- Offer legal support for board of directors' and shareholder meetings
- Support cross-border transactions and assist with overseas business expansion
- Improve legal workflows using generative AI, LLMs, and automation tools
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience:
- Licensed attorney in Japan with 5+ years of corporate legal experience
- Strong understanding of corporate, commercial, and regulatory law
- Experience supporting complex or high-growth business operations
Soft Skills:
- Strong communication and collaboration skills across diverse teams
- Ability to balance accuracy, speed, and sound judgment in legal work
- Proactive and hands-on, adaptable to fast-paced environments
- Openness to adopting new technologies and innovative practices
Language Requirements
- Japanese: Fluent
- English: Intermediate to Business level
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in IT, e-commerce, or platform industries
- Background in M&A, investments, or new business launches
- Additional legal qualifications from the US, UK, or other jurisdictions
