Java Developer (contract)

MUST RESIDE IN JAPAN. Seeking a globally minded full-stack/backend web application engineer with over 5 years of Java experience to support and scale rapidly growing web products in a cross-cultural environment.

Roles/Responsibilities

• Design and develop features for large-scale systems.
• Manage operations, including production releases.
• Conduct load and performance tests on high-traffic systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., PMs, UX/UI, QA).
• Ensure resilient system design and maintenance.

Required skills

• 5+ years of Java experience in web application development.
• Proficient with RDBMS and version control systems.
• Unix/Linux experience (shell scripting, web administration).

Preferred skills

• Familiar with Springboot, API development, and devops tasks.
• Experience with containers, Kubernetes, and NoSQL.
