Key Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth fundamental research and bottom-up analysis on Japanese equities.
- Build detailed financial models and investment theses to support portfolio decision-making.
- Analyze company fundamentals, industry trends, and macroeconomic developments affecting Japanese listed companies.
- Prepare investment research reports and recommendations for internal portfolio management teams.
- Engage with company management teams, industry experts, and market participants to gather insights.
- Collaborate with global investment teams to align research insights with portfolio strategies.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in equity research or portfolio management within the financial industry.
- Experience covering Japanese equities in either buy-side or sell-side environments (candidates with international equity experience are also welcome).
- Bachelor's degree or higher.
Soft Skills:
- Strong equity research and analytical skills with the ability to evaluate corporate fundamentals.
- Ability to present investment ideas clearly and collaborate with portfolio managers.
- Strong intellectual curiosity and commitment to high-quality investment research.
Language Requirements:
- Japanese: Native level
- English: Business or conversational level for communication with global teams
