In this role, you will operate in a fast-paced, high-pressure trading environment, ensuring the stability of trading platforms, market data systems, and low-latency infrastructure. Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary IT contact for traders and portfolio managers on the trading floor
- Provide L1/L2 support for trading platforms, ensuring real-time system stability
- Diagnose and resolve issues across desktops, trading hardware, and mobile devices
- Monitor and maintain server room infrastructure, network connectivity, and market data feeds
- Support financial data tools such as Bloomberg and Reuters/Refinitiv terminals
- Assist with office expansions, system upgrades, and disaster recovery testing
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience:
- Strong experience supporting Windows 10/11 and Microsoft 365 environments
- Understanding of financial markets and trade floor operations
- Knowledge of network fundamentals (TCP/IP, VPN, low-latency environments)
- Experience supporting market data platforms and Excel-based financial tools
- Familiarity with desktop deployment and imaging tools
Soft Skills:
- Strong bilingual communication skills in Japanese and English
- Ability to remain calm and effective in high-pressure trading environments
- Professional communication with traders and investment teams
- Strong ownership mindset with a focus on minimising downtime
Language Requirements:
- English: Business level
- Japanese: Fluent
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Scripting skills using Python or PowerShell
- Basic knowledge of Linux or SQL
- Experience in hedge funds, asset management, or investment banking environments
- ITIL Foundation certification
