Join a Europe-origin energy trading company operating in Japan as an IT Support Engineer, supporting internal IT operations in a lean, hands-on environment. This is a newly created role designed to strengthen infrastructure and end-user support as the organization continues to grow. You will provide day-to-day IT support for approximately 50 users, covering PCs, mobile devices, and IT asset management, while working closely with internal stakeholders in a small, international Tokyo office.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide end-user IT support for Windows PCs, iPhones, and core business applications
- Perform system setup, troubleshooting, upgrades, and ongoing maintenance
- Manage IT assets, ensuring accurate inventory tracking and secure lifecycle management
- Support corporate IT infrastructure including printers, basic networking, and AV systems
- Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to resolve IT issues efficiently
- Maintain system documentation, access control procedures, and backup processes
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience:
- 2-5 years of experience in IT support, helpdesk, or system administration roles
- Hands-on experience supporting end users in a corporate IT environment
- Practical knowledge of Windows operating systems and mobile device support
Soft Skills:
- Ability to work independently as a stand-alone IT support engineer
- Strong troubleshooting mindset with a proactive, hands-on approach
- Clear communication skills and reliability in day-to-day operations
Language Requirements:
- Japanese: Native level (required for user support)
- English: Basic level (a plus for internal communication)
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Experience supporting small to mid-sized offices with lean IT structures
- Exposure to infrastructure support beyond end-user devices
