Based in Tokyo, this field-focused engineering role is responsible for maintaining the reliability, connectivity, safety, and performance of commercial and residential battery storage systems, BESS, and fast-charging equipment across regional energy networks.
You will combine electrical troubleshooting and electromechanical engineering skills with on-site customer support, preventative maintenance, remote monitoring, and technical problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on commercial and residential energy storage systems and fast-charging infrastructure.
- Diagnose complex electrical and electromechanical faults and perform necessary repairs.
- Conduct component replacements, equipment rework, and precise electromechanical debugging.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and specialized electrical measuring instruments safely and effectively.
- Establish, document, and follow standardized operating procedures for equipment maintenance activities.
- Provide regular operational updates covering completed work, technical issues, and maintenance schedules across the service network.
- Manage project sites to maintain reliable online network connectivity for real-time remote monitoring.
- Provide regional field service support across energy infrastructure sites.
- Travel domestically or internationally according to operational requirements.
- Support new technical initiatives as the company's battery storage, charging, and energy product portfolio expands.
- Maintain high standards of safety, quality, and operational reliability across field service activities.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of hands-on electrical work, troubleshooting, and service experience involving commercial or high-voltage equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, electrical schematics, and mechanical drawings.
- Experience working effectively in mobile office environments and using cloud-based software tools.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel frequently for business.
- Ability to work outdoors and outside standard working hours when required.
- Physical ability to lift and handle equipment weighing approximately 20-25 kg.
- Bachelor's degree.
- More than 3 years of overall professional experience.
