Join an international technology and engineering services provider as an Automotive Infotainment Test Engineer, leading end-to-end verification and validation for next-generation automotive infotainment, navigation, and connectivity systems.
Based in Tokyo, this role combines hands-on automotive testing with project management and engineering team leadership. You will oversee multiple client projects for major automotive OEMs, taking responsibility for test execution, resources, project budgets, quality, and technical client communication.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead engineering teams conducting automotive infotainment, navigation, and V2X connectivity testing across the full verification and validation lifecycle.
- Manage test delivery to ensure projects meet agreed schedules, budgets, resource requirements, and quality standards.
- Coordinate directly with automotive clients on test strategies, execution, reporting, test benches, and test vehicles.
- Maintain continuous communication with clients and third parties and lead regular project meetings.
- Define and continuously update test plans, staffing strategies, project timelines, and operational roadmaps.
- Lead the creation, review, revision, and formal approval of comprehensive automotive test cases.
- Oversee test execution, review incoming results, consolidate test reports, and deliver official outputs to clients.
- Coach engineers on test environment setup, test case development, test execution, and defect troubleshooting.
- Investigate defects and technical issues, including analysis of vehicle communication logs.
- Escalate critical issues, monitor deviations from project plans, manage change requests, and develop recovery plans.
- Drive innovations and process improvements that enhance testing efficiency and automotive product quality.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in automotive infotainment, navigation, or V2X connectivity testing for automotive manufacturers.
- Minimum 3 years of project management experience covering schedules, budgets, resources, and quality tracking.
- Practical experience using project management frameworks and tools including WBS, JIRA, and Kanban boards.
- Hands-on experience with vehicle diagnostic tools, test instruments, and vehicle data loggers such as BluePirat or TTTech.
- Experience investigating defects, troubleshooting technical issues, and analyzing communication logs.
- Hands-on experience creating, editing, and managing test cases, ticket workflows, and technical documentation using JIRA and Confluence.
- Solid understanding of electrical engineering principles, vehicle architecture, and automotive electronic systems.
- Bachelor's degree.
- More than 3 years of professional experience.
Soft Skills:
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach engineers and manage cross-functional automotive testing teams.
- Excellent presentation and technical communication skills.
- Strong conflict management and task prioritization abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple client projects while maintaining delivery, quality, budget, and schedule requirements.
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients, third-party partners, and engineering teams in an international environment.
Language Requirements:
- Japanese: Fluent, with Native-level or JLPT N1 proficiency required for the role.
- English: Fluent.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Active PMP, ISTQB, or JSTQB certification.
- System integration experience involving automotive infotainment, connectivity, or Android OS environments.
- Experience with test bench construction and HILS (Hardware-in-the-Loop Simulation).
- Experience with automotive test automation.
- Proficiency using Linux or Android command-line environments.
- Programming experience with Java, C++, C, or Python.
- Exposure to agile software development methodologies.
- Experience or knowledge of cloud backend services.
