A global scientific technology leader is seeking an Account Manager to drive sales growth in Japan's materials science market. In this role, you will support researchers across industry and academia by providing advanced scientific instruments that enable breakthrough discoveries. Working with cutting-edge tools such as electron microscopes and spectroscopy systems, you will help customers solve technical and budget challenges while expanding the company's presence in high-impact research fields, including clean energy, semiconductors, and advanced materials.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage sales activities and maintain strong relationships with customers using advanced scientific equipment.
- Develop quarterly sales plans and forecast order volumes to support business goals.
- Work with universities and commercial customers to propose solutions for budget and procurement challenges.
- Partner with engineers to conduct product demonstrations and troubleshoot technical issues.
- Ensure all orders are processed accurately with correct specifications and documentation.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience:
- 5+ years of sales experience, preferably in scientific or technical markets.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
- Bachelor's degree; background in physics, chemistry, or materials science is a plus.
Soft Skills:
- Ability to explain complex concepts clearly to scientists, engineers, and business stakeholders.
- Creative problem-solving skills to help customers overcome technical or financial challenges.
- High adaptability, eagerness to learn technical information quickly, and flexibility with changing priorities.
Language Requirements:
- Japanese: Native
- English: Intermediate to Business level
