My client, a leading manufacturing organisation in Tipperary is seeking a Senior Accountant who will work closely with the Operations team. This role offers hands-on exposure at factory level, collaborating with Operations functions. The ideal candidate is a dynamic Senior Accountant eager to develop within a manufacturing environment, engaging at a senior level across multiple factories while building strong management and leadership capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review monthly management accounts to a high standard, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and appropriate supporting documentation.
- Prepare and review weekly production reports, including detailed variance analysis for management.
- Review standard costing against actual costs across all products.
- Process, communicate, and post intercompany recharges and reconcile intercompany balances.
- Prepare and submit all regulatory, tax, and statistical returns within required deadlines.
- Support the Finance Manager in the preparation of annual budgets.
- Manage stock control and perform stock reconciliations across multiple locations.
- Assist with the implementation, maintenance, and control of stock management systems and related IT developments.
- Liaise with external auditors as required.
- Work closely and collaboratively with the Senior Leadership Team.
- Ensure a robust financial control environment is maintained at all times.
- Continuously review, improve, automate, and standardise financial processes.
- Assist in the preparation of grant applications and R&D tax credit claims.
- Act as the escalation point for complex accounts payable and accounts receivable issues.
- Contribute to broader Finance team initiatives as required.
- Produce ad hoc analysis and reporting as needed
Key Requirements:
- ACA / ACCA / CPA / CIMA qualified accountant with 1-2 years' post-qualification industry experience in a similar role.
- Proven leadership capability, with the ability to oversee, mentor, and develop an accounting administration team.
- Strong IT skills with advanced proficiency in Excel; experience with Insight (or similar ERP systems) is a distinct advantage.
- Excellent communicator, both in person and over the phone, with a willingness to engage directly with Operations and Supply Chain teams.
- Highly accurate and detail-oriented, with a strong focus on data integrity.
- Ability to lead by example, consistently displaying professionalism and strong work ethic.
