A leading US-headquartered global technology company is seeking a Level II Data Center Technician to support the daily operations, maintenance, and troubleshooting of its critical data center infrastructure.
In this hands-on technical role, you will work with enterprise servers, network equipment, storage systems, and data center hardware, helping ensure the availability, reliability, and operational performance of essential IT infrastructure.
You will be responsible for server installation, hardware troubleshooting, rack and stack operations, structured cabling, component replacement, and infrastructure monitoring.
Working within a professional data center environment, you will respond to technical incidents, perform scheduled maintenance, and support infrastructure changes in accordance with established operating procedures and service-level agreements (SLAs).

Please note: This is an Osaka-based position requiring 24/7 shift work, including shifts outside standard business hours.
Key Responsibilities
- Server Installation & Configuration: Install, configure, maintain, and decommission enterprise servers, network devices, and other data center hardware according to operational requirements.
- Hardware Troubleshooting & Technical Support: Diagnose and resolve technical issues affecting servers, storage systems, network equipment, and related IT infrastructure.
- Rack & Stack Operations: Perform equipment mounting, rack installations, structured cabling, cable labeling, and connectivity verification to support reliable data center operations.
- Server Component Replacement: Replace faulty hardware components, including hard drives, memory modules, power supplies, cooling fans, and other server parts.
- Data Center Monitoring & Incident Response: Monitor infrastructure performance and respond to system alerts, incidents, and service requests in accordance with established procedures and SLAs.
- Preventive Maintenance & Hardware Upgrades: Perform scheduled maintenance, server upgrades, and hardware replacements to support infrastructure reliability and availability.
- Infrastructure Change Management: Execute approved infrastructure changes while following established change management processes and operational documentation requirements.
- Operational Reliability & Compliance: Follow data center operating procedures, technical standards, and safety requirements when handling critical infrastructure.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience:
- 2-4 years of hands-on experience in data center operations, IT infrastructure support, server maintenance, or a similar technical environment.
- Practical experience with server hardware installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and component replacement.
- Working knowledge of rack and stack operations, structured cabling, and data center infrastructure.
- Familiarity with enterprise server platforms such as Dell, HPE, Lenovo, or equivalent hardware systems.
- Basic understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, Ethernet, VLANs, and fibre connectivity.
- Ability to perform hardware maintenance and technical troubleshooting in accordance with established operating procedures.
Soft Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify hardware faults and resolve infrastructure issues efficiently.
- Excellent attention to detail when installing equipment, managing cables, replacing components, and verifying connectivity.
- Ability to follow technical instructions, operational procedures, and safety standards accurately.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize incidents, maintenance tasks, and service requests.
- Collaborative mindset and willingness to work alongside infrastructure engineers and other technical professionals.
- Availability and flexibility to work a 24/7 rotating shift schedule, including nights, weekends, and public holidays as required.
Language Requirements:
- Japanese: Basic-level proficiency for workplace communication and operational coordination.
- English: Fluent proficiency for technical communication, documentation, and collaboration within an international technology environment.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Experience supporting large-scale enterprise data centers or hyperscale data center environments.
- Familiarity with ITIL frameworks, IT service management (ITSM), ticketing systems, and change management procedures.
- Knowledge of data center power and cooling infrastructure, including uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems and environmental monitoring.
- Experience working with enterprise-grade servers, network hardware, or large-scale infrastructure operations.
- Understanding of data center operational reliability, preventive maintenance, and incident management practices.
