We're looking for a solid, hands-on SQL Developer to join a fast-paced technology team on a contract. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working close to the code, improving existing systems, and delivering reliable, high-quality data solutions.
You'll be focused on core SQL development, supporting business-critical applications, and working alongside delivery and engineering teams to keep things running smoothly.
What you'll be doing
- Developing and enhancing SQL-based solutions across existing applications
- Writing and optimising queries, stored procedures, and database objects
- Supporting BAU activities, including troubleshooting and resolving data issues
- Performing testing, validation, and data reconciliation to ensure accuracy
- Collaborating with developers, analysts, and QA to deliver quality outcomes
- Contributing to sprint activities and continuous improvement initiatives
What we're looking for
- Around 4-6 years' experience in SQL development roles
- Strong hands-on experience with T-SQL and Microsoft SQL Server
- Ability to write clean, efficient stored procedures, functions, and queries
- Experience supporting production environments and resolving data issues
- Solid debugging and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable working both independently and within a team
Nice to have
- Exposure to SSIS / SSRS or broader Microsoft BI stack
- Basic scripting experience (e.g. PowerShell or C#)
- Familiarity with tools like Jira and Confluence
- Experience working in Agile delivery environments
- Understanding of version control and CI/CD practices
