Are you a seasoned lending professional with a passion for empowering Australian small businesses? A leading financial institution dedicated to providing vital funding solutions that fuel growth and innovation, is seeking a highly motivated and autonomous Senior Manager to champion their small business lending pipeline, focusing on loans up to $350k and guarantees up to $500k.
This is a pivotal, standalone role where you'll own the entire lending journey for our small business clients - from initial inquiry to successful funding. You'll be instrumental in shaping their financial future and contributing directly to their success.
In this high-impact position, you'll be at the forefront of efforts to support the SME sector. You'll work collaboratively with internal sales, marketing and credit teams to streamline processes, enhance conversion rates and deliver an exceptional experience for every client. Your expertise will be crucial in optimising the organisation's lending stream and ensuring seamless operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Convert inbound referrals, marketing leads and partner introductions into thriving lending relationships.
- Guide small business clients through every stage of the application process, from initial eligibility checks to final approval.
- Prepare comprehensive lending submissions, conduct initial assessments and gather all necessary documentation for credit evaluation.
- Act as a key liaison with credit, risk and legal teams to facilitate approvals and ensure full compliance with regulatory and internal guidelines.
- Maintain meticulous records within the CRM, ensuring transparency and insightful reporting on customer journeys and pipeline performance.
- Proactively identify clients with broader financial needs and seamlessly transition them to the mid-market team when appropriate.
- Drive repeat business and foster renewals through proactive and engaging customer interactions.
What We're Looking For:
- A minimum of 5 years' demonstrated experience in business lending, across customer success or business development.
- A deep understanding of the unique needs of small and medium-sized enterprises, their funding requirements and the dynamics of business scaling.
- Strong foundational knowledge of credit principles with the proven ability to prepare and effectively support lending applications.
- An innate ability to build strong relationships with both clients and internal stakeholders, prioritising their needs.
- Exceptional organisational abilities, meticulous attention to detail, strong time management and a commitment to follow-through.
- A confident and articulate communicator who can influence decisions and convey complex financial information with clarity.
