Associate Cyber Security Engineer
Full-Time, Permanent role
Salary: €50,000 - €65,000 per annum
Location: Limerick (Remote / Hybrid)

Role Overview
Our client is currently seeking a motivated Cyber Security Engineer to join their growing Information Security team. This role is ideal for someone who has a solid foundation in cyber security and IT and is looking to expand their skills across Identity and Access Management (IAM), security tooling, and network security. You will work closely with senior engineers and IT teams to help protect systems, users, and data.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the implementation and support of Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions, including user provisioning, access reviews, MFA, and role-based access control
- Support and maintain security tools such as SIEM, endpoint protection, vulnerability scanners, and monitoring platforms
- Monitor security alerts and assist with incident response and investigation activities
- Work with networking and IT teams to help maintain secure network configurations, including firewalls, VPNs, and access controls
- Participate in vulnerability management activities, including scanning and remediation tracking
- Help develop and maintain security documentation, procedures, and best practices
- Stay up to date with emerging security threats and technologies
Essential Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in cyber security, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
- 2-5 years of experience in an IT, cyber security, or related technical role
- Basic to intermediate knowledge of Identity and Access Management (IAM) concepts
- Familiarity with common security tools (SIEM, antivirus/EDR, vulnerability scanners, etc.)
- Understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, firewalls, DNS, and VPNs
- Strong willingness to learn, problem-solve, and grow in a cyber security career
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Desirable Experience
- Entry-level or intermediate security certifications (e.g., Security+, SSCP, AZ-900, SC-900)
- Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure
- Basic scripting or automation experience (PowerShell, Python, or Bash)
- Internship or hands-on lab experience in a security-focused environment
