My client is seeking a Data-Information Standards & Governance Lead to join a major infrastructure programme. This role is responsible for leading the Data-Information Standards & Governance workstream, ensuring the successful delivery of information management standards, data governance, and cyber security documentation across the project lifecycle.
The successful candidate will oversee the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of Information Management Standards, ensuring alignment with recognised frameworks, regulatory requirements, and programme objectives.
Lead the Data-Information Standards & Governance workstream, including team leadership and delivery oversight
Develop, maintain, and implement Information Management Standards and supporting documentation
Produce and manage cyber security standards, policies, and procedures
Ensure consistent application of information governance and compliance across the programme
Collaborate with digital, engineering, PMO, procurement, and quality teams to embed standards into workflows
Engage with internal and external stakeholders to gather inputs and drive adoption of standards
Monitor compliance, quality, and governance of project information and documentation
Identify gaps in information governance and implement improvements
Drive continuous improvement and knowledge sharing across the workstream
Support coordination across programme functions to ensure interfaces are managed and documented
Proven experience developing information management standards, governance frameworks, and technical documentation on large infrastructure, engineering, construction, or rail programmes
Strong understanding of information and data standards, including BIM and structured data management
Experience with Common Data Environments (CDE) and information management platforms
Experience working in regulated or compliance-driven environments
Demonstrated experience leading teams, managing delivery, and setting priorities
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills across multiple levels
Excellent technical writing and documentation skills with high attention to detail
Ability to identify governance risks and implement practical solutions
Experience driving best practice in data, information management, and quality
Degree in Information Management, Data Science, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
Certifications in BIM, information management, or data governance are desirable
Project, programme, or IT governance certifications are beneficial but not essential
